Registration is now open for the CHICKS Santa Sprint in Callington.

Hundreds of runners are due to take part in the festive 1.5 mile fun run on December 6 in aid of children’s charity CHICKS which provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children.

Event organiser Jo Smith-Scott said: ‘‘We’re delighted to be holding the Santa Sprint again in Callington in aid of CHICKS.  It’s a great festive event which the whole family can take part in and where having fun is more important than winning.

‘‘Last year’s event was a huge success with over 200 people taking part and we expect this year to be a sell-out success as well. It was big on fun and small on run and I urge people to register as soon as possible to avoid missing out.’’

Santas will set off at 3:30pm, finishing in time for the arrival of the ‘real’ Father Christmas and the switching on of the Christmas lights in the town square.

To register visit www.chicks.org.uk or pick up a registration form from Callington Town Hall, Kivells or many shops in Callington.

Entry fees are £10 adults, £5 children (3-16 yrs) and £25 family entry (2 adults, 2 children). A Santa suit and medal are included in the entry.

There is no minimum sponsorship required, however CHICKS would ask that you raise as much as you can to help brighten the lives of disadvantaged children.
