Dedication of All Saints Academy
A special service to dedicate All Saints Academy in Plymouth was held this week.
The Bishop of Exeter, Rt Revd Robert Atwell, visited the academy, which educates 11-18 year olds. He led the service in the academy's new chapel,in front of students, governors, staff and members of the local church community.
He told pupils that the saints the academy was named after were the "Church's heroes, our first eleven".
And he challenged students: "The future is in your hands. You can decide what sort of world you want to build. I hope you will make a better job of it than my generatoin has. I hope you will build a world where each baby matters, where each child matters, and where each person is encouraged to reach their full potential.
"If you want, you can make a difference. I pray that you do."
Bishop Robert also wrote a prayer of dedication for the special service.
