Demons ready for hitmen
DEVON will be hoping to collect their second home win of the season when they face Buxton in a National League match at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening (7.15pm), writes Graham Hambly.
Buxton are currently second from bottom of the table but are level on points with the Demons, who have avoided dropping into the bottom two because of a superior race points difference.
Devon have called up Scunthorpe’s Sam Chapman as a guest replacement for injured number one Tim Webster.
Buxton are also without their number one Liam Carr, who has a knee injury, and the Hitmen operate rider replacement to cover his absence.
Devon team manager Gary Spiller says: “Over the years the Hitmen have developed many quality riders and this match is a challenge we will be relishing as we seek to maintain our current league position.”
Devon: Sam Chapman, Richard Andrews, James Shanes, Luke Chessell, Matt Bates. Reserves: Adam Sheppard, Tyler Govier.
Buxton: Rider replacement for Liam Carr, Tony Atkin, Adam Extance, Tom Woolley, Ryan Blacklock. Reserves: A N Other, Tom Bacon.
Devon will be without injured Tim Webster and skipper Matt Bates, who has work commitments, for the National League Fours at Coventry on Sunday (October 26).
Leading the Demons will be Richard Andrews, who will be joined by James Shanes, Luke Chessell and Tyler Govier.
