Tom Daley ruled out of European Championships
Plymouth's Tom Daley has been ruled out of competing in the European Diving Championships in Germany next week after failing to recover from an elbow injury in time.
The Championships which take place in Rostock begin on 18 June.
The Olympic bronze medallist has been struggling with the injury sustained in training and will not be able to defend his European 10m platform title. He recently missed tour events in Fort Lauderdale and Guadalajara and has not competed since his World Series event win in Edinburgh in April.
However, Plymouth's other diving stars, last year's European women's 10m synchro champions Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow will be in Germany to defend their title.
Recent competition success for the pair will boost hopes that they can successfully defend their title.
Daley who won European gold last year, will now concentrate on being fit for the World Championships to be held in Barcelona next month.
