Speedway National League meeting off
THE National League speedway meeting between Devon and Stoke at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening has been called off because of the bad weather.
Ashley Taylor, co-promoter of the Devon Demons, announced the decision on Friday afternoon. He said: “We have taken into account a forecast of poor weather for Saturday and could not be confident of being able to run the meeting.
“Bearing in mind the distances some of the riders had to travel, we felt it was sensible to make an early decision.”
The next meeting at the St Boniface Arena will be a National League match against Buxton next Saturday, October 25. That will be followed by a visit from Coventry on Friday, October 31 – the final day of the season.
