Speedway: Comets 52 Devils 40
PLYMOUTH returned pointless from what proved to be a frustrating Northern tour at the weekend. They lost 52-40 at Workington on Saturday evening and suffered a postponement at Glasgow on Sunday afternoon, writes Graham Hambly.
One of the bright spots for the Skills Group Devils was a further sign that Ryan Fisher is getting back to his best form. The American top scored with 15 points from his six outings at Workington.
He dropped only one point from his four programmed rides when he was beaten by Kyle Howarth first time out. He picked up four points when running second to Howarth (again) on a tactical ride as rider replacement for Morten Risager but suffered a fall in the final race.
Young Australian Jack Holder had another decent evening for the Devils with nine (paid ten) from six rides, which included four second places.
Workington: Rider replacement for Kenneth Hansen, Ricky Wells 8+2 (6 rides), Josh Grajczonek 12+2 (5), Justin Sedgmen 10 (5), Kyle Howarth 17 (6). Reserves: Simon Nielsen 5+1 (5), Nathan Greaves 0 (3).
Plymouth: Kyle Newman 5+2 (5), rider replacement for Morten Risager, Sam Simota 3 (5), Jack Holder 9+1 (6), Ryan Fisher 15 (6). Reserves: Ashley Morris 5 (5), Matt Williamson 3+2 (3).
