Somerset too strong for Devils
PLYMOUTH failed in their bid to reach the semi-final of the Travel Plus Tours KO Cup when they lost out to West Country rivals Somerset at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening, writes Graham Hambly.
The Skills Group Devils were beaten 50-40 in their home leg, following a 16-point defeat at Somerset the previous evening, which saw Somerset progress by 103-77 on aggregate.
Plymouth co-promoter David Short admitted: "It was a disappointing result for us, but there were a few positives. Reserve Sam Simota showed much better form than for some time to top score for us with 11 points.
"In fairness to Somerset, they are a very good team and could well go on to win the competition."
