Pilgrims warm up with a win in the heat
Tiverton Town 0 Plymouth Argyle 1
Pre-Season Friendly, Saturday 13 July 2013
A goal from out-of-contract striker Warren Feeney gave Plymouth a victory in their second warm-up game ahead of the new season.
In seriously hot and breathless conditions, Argyle's winner came just over five minutes into the second half. Feeney highlighting his goalscoring abilities to manager John Sheridan by hitting the target after a swift end-to-end move by the Pilgrims.
After injury problems last season, the goal will have done Feeney no harm in his bid to secure a new contract.
Sheridan had made nine substitutions at half-time to give crucial game time to as many players as possible. He also experimented with both 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 formations.
The victory follows the Greens' 3-0 midweek win at Elburton Villa and continues preparations ahead of the 2013-14 League Two season.
