McDonald’s franchisee, David Wynne, who runs and operates numerous restaurants across the Cornwall and Plymouth area has recently partnered with Charlestown Youth Football Club to help fund kits for the club’s upcoming summer season. David and his restaurants have been supporting grassroots football in the local community as part of McDonald’s Fun Football programme for many years.

Local McDonald’s franchisee David Wynne, who owns 13 restaurants across Plymouth and Cornwall, says: “We have supplied football kits for various football teams over the years and we are really looking forward to Charlestown YFC’s upcoming summer tournaments when students across St. Austell come together in high spirits. It was great to host and feed the team after the kit handover, after the past couple of tough years it’s good to see all those smiles enjoying the love of the game.”

McDonald’s is the longest-standing supporter of grassroots football in the UK and has worked with the Home Nation Football Associations for 20 years. Now in its 20th year, McDonald’s, alongside the Irish FA, Scottish FA, and Football Association of Wales, makes its biggest commitment to grassroots football by doubling the size of the new Fun Football programme.

McDonald’s Fun Football sessions will take place across the entire UK with the next wave starting in June. To find a Fun Football session local to you visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk/football.
