Devils knocked out of play off quarter finals

PLYMOUTH Skills Group Devils were knocked out of the Play Off Quarter Finals on Sunday afternoon, writes Tim Locke. 

They took a very slim two-point lead to Glasgow for the 2nd leg return match but were not a match for the powerful Glasgow squad. 

The Devils lost the 2nd leg 56-34  Plymouth were missing Todd Kurtz who was ruled out through injury and Ryan Fisher who returned home early to the USA because of family business problems.  The Devils drafted in experienced Workington rider Kenneth Hansen as guest replacement who failed to score a point.  Devils reserve Linus Eklof scored an impressive 11+1 along with Morten Risager on 9+1, and Kyle Newman on 8. this now completes the Devils 2015 Season.

Plymouth Speedway were due to Hold an Individual meeting on Friday 9th October, this will not now be taking place, due to a shortage of riders Plymouth Co-Promoter Ashley Taylor explains " Todd Kurtz is unable to ride, Jack Holder is unavailable to ride, Ryan Fisher is not in the country, and Linus is doubtful.  When we first talked about the meeting we calculated for seven Plymouth riders and five invited riders and now we are down to no more than three due to the lack of Plymouth riders it would not be economically wise to run the event because of that".

Plymouth Speedway's annual 'End of Season Presentation Evening' will be held on Saturday October 10th from 7.30pm at The Mount Edgcumbe Masonic Hall, 237 Citadel Rd, PL1 2NG. 

Taylor said " We have had to hastily arrange this event as Jack Holder will be flying back to Australia on 15th October. 

Tickets will be available from the track shop between the hours of 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday 9th October.  Ticket prices with be £10 each for PSSC members, and non-members includes with Buffet & Disco.   if you are unable to get to the track shop you can order your tickets by phoning PSSC Committee members Toni Turner on 07593875999 or Chrissy Dudley on 07912526305 they can then make your tickets available on the night.
