Woman sexually assaulted in Plymouth
Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Plymouth.
A 19-year-old local woman was walking home alone on Lipson Road, near the junction with Mount Gould Road, when she was approached by a man from behind at around 3.20am on Tuesday 22 September.
The man grabbed her and attacked her, causing her to fall to the ground, and sexually assaulted her. He was disturbed by a member of the public and then ran off.
The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, 6ft 1ins tall, of Middle Eastern appearance, and of medium build. He was wearing a blue hooded top with the hood up and grey tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Constable Jennifer Bye said: “If anybody has any information I would urge them to please come forward. I would like to stress that we believe this to be an isolated incident.
“Lipson Road is a main road and even at this time on a Tuesday morning we believe that there may have been residents or passing cars with potential witnesses inside who may have heard or seen the attack.”
