Police are appealing for witnesses following three burglaries in Bere Barton near Bere Ferrers, Yelverton.

The burglaries happened overnight on Thursday 18 July and Friday 19 July.

The first reported burglary took place at a large 14th century grade two listed manor house. The premises include numerous outbuildings and grounds situated on the edge of the rural village of Bere Ferrers overlooking the River Tamar.

The main house and outbuilding are undergoing extensive renovations and builders are present daily during working hours. The same team has been working at the location for the last eighteen months.

Entry was gained by forcing a ground floor kitchen window at the front of the premises and thieves conducted a tidy search of the kitchen, lounge and adjoining small office areas.

The offenders are believed to have left the premises via a side door in the office which leads back out into the gardens.

Police report that cash was stolen along with thirty PS3 and PC games valued collectively at £700.

The other burglaries are understood to have targeted two properties in Shutecombe Terrace during the same night.

In both cases, entry appears to have been gained through insecurity of the properties and a tidy search was carried out.

Oakley sunglasses and a pair of men’s Caterpillar boots were stolen from one property and a quantity of cash was stolen from the other.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to call police on 101 quoting JT/13/919 and JT/13/920 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
