The White Hart Hotel, a historic 250-year-old Georgian hostelry in Moretonhampstead, has recently reopened its doors under new ownership following an impressive half-million-pound refurbishment.

Meticulous renovations have restored this 28-room hotel’s comfort, luxury and charm. Situated in the centre of Devon, it is again becoming a sought-after destination for holidaymakers visiting the Dartmoor National Park. The hotel is the perfect base for exploring Devon’s remarkable beaches, enjoying outdoor country pursuits, or seeking a peaceful retreat.

The Jackson family acquired the White Hart Hotel in February this year and have refurbished the bars, restaurant, kitchen, courtyard and communal spaces whilst preserving the building's rich history and providing enhanced comfort and service.

They bring a wealth of experience from their previously successful ownership of the iconic Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor. Led by James Jackson and his partner, Hannah Chester, the hotel’s new management team aim to provide every guest with a memorable experience.

The restaurant continues the Jackson’s tradition of serving hearty, traditional English fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week including a popular Sunday Roast. Additionally, the versatile function space is ideal for hosting a variety of occasions and local events that ensure the hotel remains a vibrant hub of the community.

The autumn events calendar is filled with murder mysteries, live music from local legends like The Dockneys, tapas and drag nights for a good laugh, monthly quiz and board game evenings, adult and children’s Halloween events, a Guy Fawkes party, and festive events throughout December, including a 3-night Christmas package and a New Year's Eve dinner and dance.
