Wainhomes South West appoints new managing director
A former graduate from Plymouth university has been appointed as new managing director of leading regional new home builder Wainhomes South West.
Alex, who lives with his wife in Plymstock on the outskirts of Plymouth, will oversee the company’s next phase of growth as it looks to consolidate its position of building high quality new homes in the best locations throughout the heart of the South West.
Wainhomes also has a long-established operation in the North West and last year established a division in Severn Valley which will cover North Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire and areas of Thames Valley.
Alex brings with him a wealth of experience in the construction industry together with local knowledge. A graduate from Plymouth university, he spent 13 years with a national housebuilder in the region: 11 years in the land department rising to land director before being appointed as development director.
Alex will be based at Wainhomes’ new regional headquarters at Exeter International Office Park at Clyst Honiton near Exeter Airport. He said: "I think these modern new offices very much underline our commitment to the region. Not only do they represent a substantial investment in their own right but give Wainhomes the platform for future growth.
"They signal, too, our intention to create new jobs by attracting the best talent as we look to fulfil our ambitious plans."
Of his new role, he said: “I’m joining Wainhomes at an exciting time. I’ve been really impressed by the company’s vision for the future. Moving forward we have a number of new developments coming on stream in the next six months throughout Devon and Cornwall and continue to look for opportunities to invest in land on which to deliver our exciting new homes.”
“Our focus will be building high quality properties in superb locations. To my mind the south west is one of the best places to live in the UK. Customer service will be at the heart of our operation.”
