Three men rescued from Plymouth clifftop
Three men were rescued by helicopter from a clifftop above Bovisand Bay, Plymstock late last night after getting stuck trying to climb from the beach to the car park.
Two appliances from Greenbank and Plymstock were mobilised with the Specialist Rescue Team from Camelshead to reports of people trapped on a ledge.
On arrival, crews discovered three males stuck on the cliff in dense undergrowth.
The search and rescue helicopter from Chivenor was mobilised to assist with the rescue and lifted the three males to safety.
Two members of the Specialist Rescue Team were also winched to safety from the same area by the helicopter once the males had been rescued.
One of the men was suffering minor injuries to their leg and was assisted by the Ambulance Service. The condition of the other men is unknown.
It is believed the men had climbed a certain distance before encountering dense and unpassable gorse some 80 feet up the cliff.
