Theatre Royal Plymouth is offering primary school children the opportunity to star in this year’s pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, following the successful return of a children’s ensemble in its panto, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, last year.

To be able to audition, children should be in year 3 to 6, live within a 20-mile radius of TRP and not be taller than 4 feet 7 inches. All those trying out should be competent in modern dance and will be taught a routine as part of the audition. Two teams of eight children will be chosen to appear alternately in the pantomime which will be taking place from Friday 13 December to Saturday 11 January.

Auditions take place at TR2 Production & Learning Centre in Cattedown from 10am – 1pm on 27 October, with registration from 9:15am. For more information, visit: https://theatreroyal.com/snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs-childrens-ensemble-auditions/

TRP are keen to ensure that there are no financial barriers associated with accessing this opportunity, so there are travel bursaries available to support travel expenses that are required to take part in the show, and all meals on show days will be provided.

Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph will star as The Wicked Queen in this year’s panto, with broadcaster and barrister Rob Rinder as The Man In The Mirror. Following her lead role in The Artist earlier this year, Briana Craig will be returning to Plymouth this festive season playing Snow White, alongside comedian Andy Ford as Muddles, and West End stars Samuel Holmes and Scott Maurice as The Governess and The Prince.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be spectacularly brought to life with an abundance of comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, fabulous costumes and stunning scenery. Throw in a magical mirror, the magnificent seven and plenty of audience participation and you have the perfect recipe to outwit The Wicked Queen and let love prevail in this glittering festive treat for all ages.
