SWH Civils awarded Derriford helipad contract
SWH Civils, a division of South West Highways Ltd, has recently tendered for and won the contract for the construction of a helipad at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
This exciting project, which is due to commence at the end of October, will provide a new helicopter landing facility enabling a wider range of aircraft to land at Derriford Hospital Emergency Unit.
The works to be carried out by SWH Civils will enable the hospital trust to deliver an improved helicopter landing facility, benefiting Devon & Cornwall Air Ambulances it will enable them to land at night, helping the Hospital Trust continue to improve their services to the community.
SWH has proudly supported the Devon Air Ambulance Trust as its charity of the year since 2008, having raised nearly £5,000 for the cause during that time. SWH’s employees feel very positively towards the charity and therefore everyone involved in this project is happy to be providing the hospital with a landing pad that will make all the difference in the future.
SWH Civils is currently undertaking a number of high profile projects in the South West region, including the delivery of a road widening scheme to Exeter Airport to better assist those who regularly use the facility. SWH Civils is continuing to maintain Devon’s highways and is also currently installing new infrastructure works to aid the expansion of Marsh Barton in Exeter.
The project at Derriford Hospital is due to finish in spring 2015.
