Tom's band 'APATHY' took part in the Metal 2 the Masses competition for Devon & Cornwall. APATHY won through stiff competition beating fifteen other bands to be the region's winners, earning a place at the  festival.

Apathy's band members hail from across the Southwest. Over the last year the band shared the stage with more established local, national and international acts at some of the regions great venues. This includes well attended headline gigs in Exeter and Plymouth showcasing emerging Devon and Cornwall-bands. A number of excellent bands are contributing to a growing metal scene in Devon and Cornwall.

With 1000 monthly listeners on Spotify and over 10,000 views on YouTube, Apathy have two singles available. 'Vain' was released in 2022 and newly released, 'Gravewalker' is available on digital outlets and streaming platforms. The release of 'Gravewalker' was celebrated with a headline gig at Plymouth's iconic venue, 'The Junction.'

In recent weeks the band have been busy. A headline show at Exeter's Move Nightclub and a debut appearance at Weston Super Mare's Electric Banana. Apathy opened The Phoenix, Exeter for American band 'Born Of Osiris' and the amazing British metal core band, Oceans Ate Alaska. The band were also delighted to support US female-fronted band, The Anchor on two of their UK tour dates earlier in July.

Apathy have just completed three weeks living in Shell City Studios in Blackpool completing their album ahead of the Bloodstock appearance. The music will be released later this year once  mastering and mixing is completed.

The young band, Oscar, Seth, Isaac and Tom,  have achieved a great deal in a short time, focussed on developing their own sound, original material and an exciting, high-energy live show. A journey for Tom that started with guitar lessons at Sidmouth College with local folk musician Steve McSmith and continued with busking around Sidmouth and Exeter as he worked to raise funds for his guitars and equipment.

Apathy are ready to take their music to a new level and eager to embrace new opportunities. Apathy welcome the Devon community getting behind them as they continue to build a following beyond the South West. Who knows where it will take them. Check out their music and follow their progress on social media.
