Principal Fellowship for medical school professor

Professor Hisham Khalil, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Liaison at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, has been made a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy is awarded to professionals who have a sustained record of effective strategic leadership in academic practice and academic development as a key contribution to high quality student learning.

Successful applicants are highly experienced members of senior staff with wide-ranging academic or strategic leadership responsibilities in connection with key aspects of teaching and supporting learning. They should also be responsible for institutional strategic leadership and policymaking in the area of teaching and learning, including extending beyond their own institution.

Said Professor Khalil: “I am delighted to have been awarded Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. As well as being a personal professional achievement, it also stands testament to the importance we place on the highest standards of education delivery at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.”
