Police appeal for witnesses to road rage incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road rage incident which lead to an assault and criminal damage on Crownhill Road, Plymouth between 4.45pm and 5.20pm on Wednesday 29th June.

The victims were travelling in a red Renault people carrier with their two young children from St Budeaux towards Transit Way when a dark blue Mercedes car pulled out in front of them at the Ernsettle roundabout causing them to brake sharply.

The male driver of the Mercedes saloon approached the victim’s car shouting and spat in the face of the woman who was in the front passenger seat. Her partner drove off and the Mercedes car followed.

The Mercedes driver pulled alongside and opened his door onto the passenger door of the victim’s car three times causing visible damage, before driving off at speed.

Police would like to identify the suspect described as a white man in his 50’s, 6ft, with tall greying receding hairline, or large build and wearing a blue t-shirt and light jeans.
