Plymouth's half marathon on course for 2014 race sell out
GO2, organisers of Plymouth’s Half Marathon, are urging runners not to leave it until the last minute to sign up for this years race, as entry numbers have already surpassed those of 2013, with two months still to go until race day.
Amy Budd, Race Organiser at GO2, said: "The interest in Plymouth’s Half Marathon has been fantastic, and we are delighted to have over 4,500 runners already signed up for the event. Last year, around 60 percent of our runners signed up in the last six weeks, which is a trend we often see across all of our races. We know that in the past the event has attracted in excess of 5,000 participants, and that this years race is not far at all from selling out.
“As we are so close to capacity, entries will remain open until the race is full. For all of our regular runners, we would highly recommend signing up now to avoid any disappointment. We had anticipated that the 2014 race had the potential to be really special, and the response from the Plymouth community has not let us down!
“We recently announced Plymouth Musketeers as our Club of the Year, who will be offering a variety of training and support services, in addition to our Full Potential training plans which can be downloaded direct from the website. So why wait? Join our Plymouth’s runners and make this race one to remember!”
To sign up for the challenge, please visit www.plymouthhalfmarathon.com to guarantee your place. If you are not fortunate enough to secure a spot in this years race, there will still be a number of charity entries available if you’re looking to take on the challenge to fundraise.
The official charity partners for the 2014 race are Cancer Research UK and Children’s Hospice South West. A massive £130,000 was raised in 2013 by all the Half Marathon charity partners and many more thousands of pounds for other charities.
