Playpark damaged in suspected arson attack

Police in Plymouth are appealing for witnesses and information after a playpark was damaged in a suspected arson attack.

A wooden playboat was set alight at the Barne Barton playpark on Savage Road at around 10pm on Monday (April 14). The boat was destroyed by the fire which has caused substantial damage as a result.

Chief Inspector Ian Drummond-Smith said: "This is a particularly heartless crime to damage a children's play area during the school holidays.

"We hope someone will come forward to help catch those responsible."
