In The Lady Garden, by Babs Horton, shortlisted for the Popcorn Award at Edinburgh Fringe Festival
In The Lady Garden, which has been supported by Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Pleasance for the National Edinburgh Partnerships Programme, has been shortlisted for the Popcorn Writing Award at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
This one-of-a-kind award, that has a prize fund of £6,000 which goes directly to the writers, was set up in 2019 by the Popcorn Group, a film and theatre production company. It celebrates fearless work which playfully and artistically addresses current affairs, questions societal trends, and contributes positively to public debate.
All over the age of 62, The Lady Gardeners, who are the cast and creatives behind this brilliant show, are comprised of Babs Horton (Writer), Deborah Edgington (Director) and Julia Faulkner (Performer). In The Lady Garden marks the trio’s Edinburgh Fringe debut.
So far, the one-woman play has received some fantastic reviews and is continuing to entertain audiences up in Edinburgh.
