A leading end of life care charity is inviting people in Devon with experience in health and social care to chat to them about working in end-of-life care at a drop-in session on Thursday.

Marie Curie will be holding a drop-in session in their Tiverton office at Petroc College on Thursday 7 July between 10am and 3pm.

Jenny Evans, Marie Curie Nurse Manager in Devon, said: “We have overnight healthcare assistant roles available across the county. If you have experience in health or social care, we'd love to meet you. We’ll answer any questions you may have and can tell you more about how rewarding a career in end-of-life care can be.”

Kim Cowan is a Senior Healthcare Assistant at Marie Curie in Devon, Kim said:“End of life care isn't all sadness and tears. I've met some amazing people as my patients and learnt so much from their life experiences. It's a privilege being able to care for someone and support their family and bring some comfort into their lives at such a hard time.

“Working nights has given me a good work life balance. It means I have more time during the day. I'm well supported by our on-call manager and community out of hours team, so I never feel like I’m on my own. My Marie Curie team are my work family. We support each other as we all know what this job involves.”

Anyone interested is encouraged to visit the Marie Curie office, Petroc Block D, Bolham Road, Tiverton, EX16 6SH on Thursday 7 July between 10am and 3pm for an informal chat.
