Hear! Hear! New hearing centre of excellence opens in Exeter
Hearing specialist, Chime, has opened a new, contemporary hearing centre of excellence in Exeter to mark its 10th anniversary. The state-of-the-art centre provides greater access to Chime’s audiology experts and innovative hearing solutions for people in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.
Open Monday to Saturday, 8:15am to 5:30pm on 21 and 22 Queen Street, people experiencing difficulty with hearing can seek expert advice at the centre, previously located inside the Harlequins Shopping Centre. Chime moved to its new home, opposite the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, in January after Harlequins closed due to the redevelopment of the centre.
Visitors are greeted by a welcoming, spacious reception area complete with fresh, vibrant interiors and two living plant walls. With six modern consulting rooms and a dedicated retail area offering the latest advances in digital hearing aids and accessories, clients can drop-in for private appointments with leading audiologists.
Chime is a successful social enterprise, an innovator in hearing services and, in addition to offering private hearing aids and accessories from the new Queen Street premises, Chime is the prime provider of hearing services for NHS Exeter and East Devon. For over 10 years Chime has provided NHS Audiology Services for those who have been referred to the centre by their GP.
Services offered by Chime include hearing tests, wax removal, tinnitus assessments and hearing health services to transform the lives of people living with hearing difficulties.
Jonathan Parsons, Managing Director of Chime Social Enterprise, commented: “I’m delighted to announce the opening of Exeter’s new hearing centre of excellence to mark Chime’s 10th anniversary. Our new position on Exeter’s busy Queen Street exposes us to a greater footfall so people experiencing hearing difficulties will know exactly where to go for expert NHS or commercial hearing help and advice. We hope the new centre will give the public greater access to our leading audiologists who really can transform lives.”
Jonathan continued: “In the UK, more than 40% of people over 50 have hearing loss, rising to more than 70% of people over the age of 70*. It’s a common problem which can also damage your mental health but is treatable if identified early and even preventable. Chime is here to help treat a range of hearing problems and educate the public on safe listening practices. So, pop in and see us. We’re all ears!”
Chime, located on 21 and 22 Queen Street, EX4 3SH, is open Monday to Saturday, 8:15am to 5:30pm. For more information, visit www.chimehealth.co.uk.
