Coldharbour Farm is highly commended in Rural Awards
Coldharbour Farm Shop and Field Kitchen in Ottery St Mary has been recognised in this year’s Countryside Alliance Award as a champion of local food and drink in the South West.
Coldharbour was awarded Highly Commended in the local food and drink category. It’s an impressive commendation as thousands of nominations were received.
Andrea Broadhurst said: “We were proud just to be named amongst the finalists so it’s a real honour to be recognised as highly commended. A huge congratulations to the winners and runners up, these are all brilliant rural businesses who work really hard.
She added: “These particular awards were decided by public vote; we’d like to thank all our customers for voting for us, we really do appreciate you making the effort to support us.”
The Countryside Alliance Awards – now in their 17th year – recognise rural businesses across five categories, including ‘best local food’, ‘best butcher’, ‘best pub’, ‘best rural enterprise’, and ‘best village shop / post office’. These businesses go the extra mile within their communities, supporting the local economy and championing local goods and services.
Sarah Lee, Countryside Alliance Director of Policy, said: "We are proud to be honouring these exceptional rural businesses, and the people behind them who are passionate about providing quality goods, services, and employment to rural communities and beyond.
“Running a business in a rural community isn’t easy, and it’s so important to celebrate the valued role these rural enterprises have in their communities."
