Using the number of their lodge as a connection to the amount of their grant to five local charities, Plym Lodge N. 3821 who celebrate their centenary next February gave grants equalling £3821 to five charities based in and around Plymouth.

They invited The Fragile X Society, Parkinson’s Plymouth, National Coastguard Rame Head, Cane Bridge School and Dementia Friendly Parishes around the Yealm to join them at a meeting held recently in their Masonic Hall on North Hill Plymouth where in turn the representatives in attendance were presented with a cheque for £764.20. They then gave the members of the lodge a short resume of the work they did in the community. It was agreed by all in attendance that they could not have selected a more deserving group to receive their grants.

After the meeting had finished all present sat down to a superb meal and refreshments provided by the caterers of the lodge.

The Worshipful Master of the Plym Lodge, W. Bro. McGoldrick when giving the cheques to the representatives of the charities said that charity was at the heart of all freemasons and it gave him great pleasure to have the opportunity to help the volunteers of the local charities who give so much to their communities without any thought for themselves.

Those present were.
NCI Rame Head. Arnie Kapstein & David Morris.
Dementia Friendly Parishes around the Yealm. Maxine Kennedy & Edna Petrie.
Parkinsons Plymouth. Julie Patterson.
Fragile X Society. Hayley Sprague & Samantha Morgan.
Cann Bridge School. Emma Heaford.
