CAMRA's ready for Plymouth Beer Festival

The Plymouth Beer Festival returns to Plymouth Pavilions today and tomorrow (12 and 13 July 2013) in association with CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale).

Over 165 real ales, 60 ciders, 10 perries and 22 bottled beers are on offer along with live music tonight (Friday) from local band Shoot The Crow and tomrrow (Saturday) from the legendary Dr Feelgood.

The Plymouth Morris Men will be performing in the Arena at around 3pm tomorrow.

The Foreign Beer Bar has returned for its second year, nominated drivers will be given a free soft drink and hot food will be served all day along a special ‘paired food’ menu.

For the dedicated real ale fans, CAMRA are selling beer as 1/3 pint to allow people to try the largest variety possible. Other standard drink measures are available too.

There will also be a charity collection on both days with the proceeds going to Plymouth Pavilions’ Charity of the Year, Gables Farm Cats & Dog home.

Event organiser, Martin Brown from Plymouth CAMRA said: “We return this year with an even wider choice of foreign beers and ciders, following on from their successful introduction last year. We also have 165 real ales from all over the UK.

"Come along early to enjoy tasting beers from a huge selection, please do note that not all beers will be available at every session.

"This year we have more breweries represented from within our area than at any previous Plymouth Beer Festival.
