Bellway’s donation helps fundraising efforts at Cullompton Pre-school summer fete

Children at Cullompton Pre-school will have extra resources to help with their outdoor learning and activities thanks to a donation from local homebuilder Bellway.

The company, which is building new homes a few miles away at its Fox Mill Gardens development in Willand, gave the pre-school £250 to spend on raffle prizes for its summer fete on Saturday 22 June.

The raffle raised more than £900.00 with the whole fete raising £1818.78. The pre-school plans to spend this on its outside areas, providing new equipment, creating raised beds for the garden, and improving its Forest School and Understanding the World resources.

Amelia Joyner, Pre-School Leader from Cullompton Pre-school, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Bellway for the donation which enabled us to purchase two fantastic prizes to help raise money at the fete.

“We are funded by the government per child, but this doesn’t even cover our costs, so this means we rely heavily on fundraising to pay for equipment and resources. Our annual summer fete is one of our biggest fundraising events.”

With Bellway’s donation, the school bought a family ticket to Peppa Pig World in Hampshire and a garden furniture set, which were entered in a ‘pick your own prize’ raffle – where participants choose the prize they want to be in with a chance of winning. The two Bellway prizes sold a large number of tickets, with the Peppa Pig prize selling the most.

Rachel Way, Senior Sales Manager at Bellway South West, said: “Cullompton Pre-school has made excellent use of our £250 donation and it was great to hear that so many people supported their ‘pick your own prize’ raffle.

“It’s good to know that children at the pre-school will have some great outdoor areas and resources to enjoy there as a result of the fundraising effort, and we are very happy to have helped with this.”

Bellway is building a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes at Fox Mill Gardens in Willand.
