Appledore Book Festival supported as bunnyhomes Nears New Chapter
Bunnyhomes, the creator of select new homes in beautiful places across Cornwall and Devon, has sponsored the renowned Appledore Book Festival for a third year, just as it nears a new chapter of its own.
Announcing a brand-new neighbourhood of beautifully crafted new and traditionally built homes in the village, Rachel Menear, Head of Marketing at bunnyhomes, said: "We’re thrilled to have supported the Appledore Book Festival for the past three years, celebrating creativity and community—values that are at the heart of bunnyhomes.
“This Autumn, we’re excited to continue our commitment to the local area with the launch of Primrose Fields, a beautiful new neighbourhood offering a collection of thoughtfully designed three- and four-bedroom homes. At bunnyhomes, we believe in building more than just homes; we’re creating places where families can grow and thrive."
As a community event aimed at preserving a love of reading through the celebration of books and authors of all genres, Appledore Book Festival is a natural partner for bunnyhomes, which always seeks to enhance the communities in which it builds.
Originally founded in 2006 by Nick Arnold, author of the Horrible Science series, the Book Festival started out as a movement to save Appledore Library. His campaign brought the whole community together and was an overwhelming success.
Today, the Festival is one of the biggest cultural festivals in Devon and the South-West, attracting world-class authors, speakers, and performers. An important element is the schools and children's programme, where authors and illustrators visit schools in the local areas to engage and inspire young readers, as well as taking part in the popular free Family Day.
Run almost exclusively by a team of volunteers, who do everything from stewarding the events to adorning the village with bunting, the Festival is an experience truly unique to Appledore.
Jane Beaton, Festival Director, said: “Our beautiful maritime village location and historic venues encourage authors and visitors to soak up village life which means you can often see your favourite authors out and about enjoying an ice-cream or hanging out in one of our fabulous cafés and bars. As a charity, our aim is a simple one: to inform, to entertain, and above all, inspire a love of reading and writing, across North Devon and beyond. This is of course made possible by the support of our sponsors and we thank bunnyhomes for their continued interest in what we do and contribution to help keep this important community project going.”
