Cofton Holidays, an eco-friendly holiday park managed by a local Devon family, has been crowned top dog at the prestigious DogFriendly Awards, recognising their dedication to creating unforgettable holidays for guests and their four-legged friends.

Cofton Holidays Directors, Helen Scott and Mellony Kirby, were delighted to collect the honour of Holiday Park of the Year at the sparkling ceremony held at the Kennel Club headquarters in London on Thursday 21st November. A proud moment made even more special when they met Ted the dog from BBC’s Gone Fishing!

Voted for by the public, The DogFriendly Awards recognise dog-friendly places that go the extra mile for the UK’s 12.5 million dogs and their owners. With doggy welcome hampers, a dedicated dog-walking field and a dog wash for muddy paws and sandy fur, guests love the thoughtful touches to pamper their pooch on holiday. Pups are also welcome at Cofton’s pub, The Swan Inn, with tasty treats and doggy ice cream available, every guest is treated to a five-star stay.

Helen Scott, Director said: "We are incredibly honoured to receive this award. At Cofton, dogs are part of the family, and we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to create a truly welcoming and enjoyable experience for all our guests—humans and pups alike. This recognition reflects the hard work and passion of our entire team."

As part of their dog-friendly offering, Cofton’s accommodation includes holiday homes, cosy cottages, luxury hot tub lodges and a brand new glamping cabin. All with picturesque ‘walkies’ nearby along the dog-friendly Dawlish Warren beach and through the 80-acre woodland site, owned by the Jeffery family for nearly 50 years.

The accolade also acknowledged outstanding guest reviews, including this glowing testimonial from Laura, who visited Cofton with her dog in October 2024:

"From the start, our holiday at Cofton with our new pooch was 'simply the best.' She had treats on offer in Reception, a dedicated exercise field, and doggy ice cream and wine available in Amelia's! She made so many new doggy friends, and the little extras for her in our accommodation were so thoughtful. It was our first holiday at Cofton, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have already booked for next year!"

Celebrating the Devon countryside and offering guests a stay amongst nature, Cofton Holidays is a short hop to the famous South West Coast Path and Devon’s peaceful beaches, perfect for a sunset scamper.
