Devon couple singled out for national Visit England ROSE Award
Brett Bates and Susan Juggins from Bampton own and run the multi award winning beach hut Holi Moli at Dunster Beach on the Exmoor coast. They were recognised last Thursday at a champagne reception hosted by the Chair of the British Tourism Association Dame Judith Macgregor at the sumptuous Luton Hoo Hotel in Bedfordshire for their service excellence, by being awarded The ROSE Award (Recognition Of Service Excellence) by England’s national tourism board Visit England.
The beach hut owners were first nominated following a visit to Holi Moli by an AA Rated Places (Visit England’s quality scheme) assessor when they retained their 5-Stars for the fourth consecutive year, the nominations were then forwarded to the Visit England board for final judging which included the assessor’s comments, online presence and guest reviews from both overseas and domestic guests.
Visit England Director Andrew Stokes said: "The awards are a wonderful showcase of the sheer scale of outstanding accommodation across England with visitors truly spoilt for choice. From stunning estates with camping on their doorstep to quintessentially English pubs with cosy rooms, from charming B&B’s and self-catering cottages in glorious locations to quirky beach huts in picture-perfect seaside towns, there is a stay to suit all tastes and requirements.” ‘’The ‘quirky beach huts in picture-perfect seaside towns’ was obviously aimed at Holi Moli as England’s only 5-Star beach hut and Dunster is most definitely picture-postcard perfect’’ said co-owner Brett Bates ‘’to be singled out for this award based on our service excellence and guest experience is just wonderful. It was quite humbling, we know there are some phenomenal accommodation providers across England.’’
The award follows numerous other tourism awards over the last few years for Holi Moli at both regional and national level having previously won awards for Self Catering, Dog Friendly and Sustainable Business of the Year, ‘’this was the first time we as owners ourselves were singled out for an award, which makes this extra special for us’’ added Brett Bates.
