Devon Wildlife Trust report that an estimated 11,000 people attended their annual Wildlife Festival in Plymouth on Saturday 27 April.

Sunny weather greeted visitors to Armada Way to enjoy a variety of attractions from owls and mini-beasts, to face painting, seashore craft making, Charles Darwin and a hoola-hooping badger.

The day was also used by DWT to launch its 'Get Devon Buzzing' campaign which is asking people to take action in their local communities and gardens for these struggling pollinators.

The festival was coordinated by DWT's Jo Pullin, who said: "As usual the people of Plymouth have come out in huge numbers to help us celebrate the wonderful wildlife of Devon and to find out how they can play their part in its future. Now the planning begins in preparation for next year's festival in Barnstaple."
