Valentine day themed cake sale at Plympton Academy raises money for charity
A Valentine day themed cake sale at Plympton Academy has raised more than £70 for charity.
The event was the idea of 12 year old pupil Matthew Abbott who loved the thought of raising money for Macmillan Cancer Research.
The cake sale was a team effort with Pastoral mentor, Michelle Keane, coming up with the Valentine day theme and teachers, Jim Strachan, Jo Pengelly and Sarah Puleston, all helping on the day. The school reprographics team designed the poster and the specially decorated Valentines themed cakes were brought in by staff and students.
“The cakes were amazing and sold out by the end of break-time, “said Head of Year 8, Jim Strachan. “It was a pleasure to work with Matthew raising this money and I look forward to helping him with future charity events.”
