Plymouth’s pitch perfect with new investment guide
Plymouth’s pitch to investors around the globe is being launched this week.
Development opportunities, the best waterfront living in the country as well as the chance to be at the forefront of marine and science technology, are being highlighted in the guide that will be distributed across the UK and overseas through the UKTI.
The glossy brochure gives a snapshot of what businesses and organisations could enjoy if they relocate to Britain’s Ocean City and sets out why this city is such a great place to work, live and play in.
Council leader Tudor Evans said: “It’s been less than two years since the last run of the guide and the amount that’s changed is staggering. Plymouth Science Park – the biggest science park in the south of
England is continuing to expand and more hi-tech companies are basing themselves there.
“Only two weeks ago the £4.17 million new coach station and the £40 million Drake Circus Leisure development were given the planning green light.
“The History Centre is not just a lovely idea – we’ve secured £25 million to make it happen.
“Regeneration specialists Urban Splash are taking on the Civic Centre and Millbay is changing from underused tired dockland to a place with stunning homes, boats and people enjoying themselves.”
Paul Wood, chair of the Plymouth Growth Board said: “Sometimes we forget just how much has been achieved in such a short space of time and this is not only a way for us to sell the city, it is also a reminder of the work that has been taking place with the Council at the helm helping make this happen.
“It also highlights the fact that we are on the five year count down to the Mayflower 400 with all the opportunities it offers businesses.”
The guide will be taken to the All Energy event in Glasgow in May, and MIPIM in London in October. It will also be used to help promote South Yard, alongside our South Yard brochure.
It will also be on the investinplymouth.co.uk website as a digital guide.
The main difference with this guide and our previous is we focus much more on new developments and the opportunities these bring to potential investors.
This is the second edition of the guide published by Burrows Communications Ltd and has been put together by the City Council and Plymouth Growth Board.
