National Marine Aquarium joins the campaign to Refill Devon
The National Marine Aquarium has joined over 30 local business in Plymouth to support the Refill Devon campaign.
‘Refill’ is one of the fastest growing and successful bottle refill schemes around the country. The practical tap water campaign aims to make refilling your bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible by introducing refill points on every street.
The National Marine Aquarium, along with local businesses and organisations in Plymouth including Lush, Wagamama, RockFish and The Waterfront Pub, will be displaying blue stickers inviting thirsty customers and passers-by to come in a fill up their bottle for free.
The National Marine Aquarium is the nation’s largest public aquarium and independent conservation charity with the mission of connecting us with our oceans and promoting pro-ocean behaviour, creating healthier oceans for the benefit and enjoyment of all.
The Aquarium will also be hosting events, such as 20 beach cleans, to further support the campaign to reduce the use of single use plastics, and will be open to all to get involved.
Liz Cole, Discovery and Learning Officer at the National Marine Aquarium, commented: “The National Marine Aquarium is really excited about joining the Refill Devon Scheme. If we work together to reduce the number of plastic bottles going into the sea, we can help protect our marine life and keep ourselves healthy at the same time.
“Using tap water to refill water bottles is such a quick and easy way to help protect our oceans, and everyone can join in. It’s a win- win situation!”
