Apprentices launch Big Purple Challenge
Plymouth City Council apprentices are launching a Big Purple Day on Friday 3 July to raise money for the Epilepsy Society.
They're asking everyone to dress in purple on Friday or tweet a selfie with their purple beard photo and help raise money via their Just Giving page at justgiving.com/teams/BAC15.
Organising the fundraising is part of the Brathay Challenge, the national search for the apprentice team of the year. The team chose the charity as one of our former apprentices has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy.
Plymouth City Council Leader Tudor Evans said “I am very proud of what this year’s team of apprentices have achieved so far, their passion and enthusiasm for the project shines through and I am fully supportive of their efforts”.
The more money they raise, the better chance they have of being crowned Brathay Apprentice Champions 2015 and the greater awareness they get for both the Epilepsy Society and for apprenticeships.
So grab your mobile, download the purple beard at www.plymouth.gov.uk/purpleday, take a selfie and tweet it to @PCCApprentices – it may be a bit of purple fun to don a purple beard but it is also a nod to their colleague, who grew his beard to mask the involuntary twitches he gets from epilepsy.
Follow @PCCApprentices & @BACBond on twitter and use #PurpleDay when tweeting your best beardy pose. You can also check out the team's antics on the Just Giving page.
