Plans submitted for executive homes in Plymouth

Leading housebuilder Charles Church Cornwall has submitted two planning applications for more than 60 new homes in Plymouth.

Charles Church, which recently opened a new regional office in Launceston, wants to build 27 houses in the Seaton neighbourhood and a further 36 houses at Plymstock Quarry.

Outline planning permission has already been granted at both sites.

Daniel Heathcote, director in charge at Charles Church Cornwall, said: “We’re pleased to be in a position to submit these Reserved Matters applications for new homes.

“These developments will deliver stylish homes to the area, which we believe will be in high demand.

“We are planning a mix of three, four and five bedroom homes which will be perfect for families looking for more space and professionals working in Plymouth.”

The planning applications are due to be decided by June and Charles Church Cornwall says it hopes to start work in July.

Charles Church Cornwall’s plans at Seaton are for four and five bedroom homes on land between the B3413 and Tavistock Road. It’s part of the overall plans for more than 800 houses at the site.

The plans at Plymstock Quarry are for two, three, four and five bedroom homes on land off Billacombe Road.

Charles Church has 28 regional businesses across the UK, the newest of which is Cornwall, which is based at Pennygillam Industrial Estate.

The business, part of the Persimmon Homes group, already employs more than 30 people and will be taking on more staff as more sites open, including apprentices, bricklayers, carpenters and office staff.
