Julie Waddell, award-winning food entrepreneur and creator of the market leading gourmet humous brand Moorish, is to launch the first and only food and drink business academy in the UK.

The Little Food Academy will advise clients on how to successfully launch their product to the food and drink market by Julie working with them directly; entrepreneur to entrepreneur.

The Academy follows the national success of The Little Smoked Food Company and Moorish Smoked Humous & Dips, which was named Britain’s most disruptive food brand of 2015.

In just three short years since the Little Smoked Food Company was founded in 2012, ex-BBC journalist Julie has taken the brand from her kitchen table to being one of the top gourmet dip products stocked in the UK’s premier retailers including Waitrose, Ocado, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, Budgens, Harvey Nichols and Booths.

The Little Food Academy has opened its services to the public to rocket launch food and drink product businesses to success. Julie will personally guide businesses through online learning modules, webinars, podcasts, videos and even masterclasses with trusted industry experts.

Julie Waddell, founder of The Little Food Academy, said: “The Little Food Academy is a really exciting venture which allows me a way to share my experience of the food industry with others who are just starting out. The Academy is open for memberships from pre start-up to early stage market presence, with the aim to successfully launch products and brands into the food and drink market across the UK.”

Julie continues: “The food and drink industry is both highly technical and excruciatingly competitive. Breaking into this market is very tricky if you do not know what you’re doing. The aim of The Little Food Academy is to educate and inform businesses to take the correct initial steps to prepare them for all the loops and bounds that they will be faced with when launching their business and products to the market.”

The Academy will be giving guidance in everything from developing a winning and standout brand, selling products by approaching retailers from farm shops and delis to major supermarkets and creating unique packaging with the correct format and pricing.

The Little Food Academy offers a subscription for a step-by-step course for a one-off payment of £497 and a monthly membership for on-going support costing £1 per day.
