Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust has been shortlisted for a national WOW! Award, which recognises the positive feedback we have received from patients about the fantastic work that is being done across the organisation.

The Trust has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Best NHS Organisation’ category alongside five other NHS Trusts.

Since the Awards began at the beginning of April, we have received 140 nominations from both patients and staff and had extremely positive feedback from many. These include….

“She could always make time to sit and have a chat.  She seemed to know each patient's individual requirements and looked after everyone, but treated each patient as a special individual”

“His approach to trust, involve and respect everyone certainly works and subsequently makes this an exceptional team to be a member of”.

Debbie Taylor, Head of Organisational Development at Plymouth Hospitals said “We have been overwhelmed by the nominations that we have received.  Our staff are very humbled and proud that people have taken the time to let us know about their experiences when using our services and visiting our hospital”

One of the first people to be awarded a certificate was Debbie Thompson, one of the Learning and Development Facilitators. She said “I was really pleased to receive the award and be recognised for the work that I do. In my eyes I was just doing my job with my normal level of enthusiasm for what I do. I really do appreciate it”.

All nominations are considered by a national team and the winners receive a certificate delivered personally by a member of the PHNT Board. Staff can also nominate their colleagues for an award.
Every day we are receiving nominations. To view recent nominations or to nominate someone go to www.plymouthhospitals.nhs.uk/wow
