Do you know someone in the emergency services who has made a real difference? Here’s your chance to support them.

Entries are open for the first Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards (the EFEs). Launched by FIRE Magazine, in association with Babcock to honour the many heroes who save millions of lives and help countless others every day.

The awards acknowledge the ‘hidden’ heroics of the innovative people committed to improving safety and efficiency in the face of massive financial cuts.

Why Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards?

In his review on the future of fire and rescue services, Sir Ken Knight highlighted a further £196 million savings which could be made. Emergency services cannot meet these challenges without working closely with industry and evolving partnerships, innovative working practices and outsourcing aspects of the service.

The awards will provide much needed recognition to those who have made a real difference through innovation and aims to unite suppliers and industry supporters with chief officers for even better collaboration.

Who can enter?

All members of the emergency services (in any sector) are eligible to enter, as individuals or teams.

The deadline is Thursday 31 July 2014 and an awards ceremony will be held at the prestigious Caledonian Club in Belgravia, London on October 17.
