Don’t lose your voice – make your vote count!
Excitement is rising with just one week to go before the Local and European Elections and Plymouth residents are being reminded to take the time to make their vote count!
Voting couldn’t be easier, simply pop into your allocated polling station on Thursday 22 May anytime between 7am and 10pm and vote at the City Council and European Parliamentary Elections.
What’s more, you do not need to have your poll card with you to be able to vote. You will be asked for your name and address and as long as you are registered to vote, will be given a ballot paper.
In one of the polling booths mark a cross (X) in the box on the right hand side of the local individual candidate and European Election Party of your choice. Only one choice for each can be made per individual.
For residents unsure which candidates are standing for this year’s Local Election download the statement of persons nominated from Plymouth City Council’s website at www.plymouth.gov.uk/localelectionnotices. Candidates for the European Elections can be found at www.plymouth.gov.uk/euroelectionnotices2014.
If you are unsure where your polling station is, visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/voting.
The verification of ballot papers will take place on Thursday 22 May, followed by the count at 1pm on Friday 23 May. Results for the Local Elections will be announced from approximately 2pm on the Friday. Plymouth’s results for the European Elections will be issued after 10pm on Sunday 25 May.
For up to date information about the elections follow Plymouth City Council on Twitter @plymouthcc. All the results will be published on the Council’s website shortly after the results are announced.
